Under the hood

What kind of numbers/math/rules system is gonna be under the hood for interactions, combat and otherwise?
Are there going to be typical - hitpoints, damage ranges on attacks, crits? (although gaven mentioned a dislike for RNG outcomes).
Will the numbers used (presuming there are :) ) be in the low end or, like yu-gi-oh and modern day WoW, be going into the thousands+?
Will it be a D&D style engine underneath or just your own thing that evolves as you go?
